About La Tarte Tropézienne, Place des Lices
Alexandre Micka opened a bakery in Saint-Tropez in 1955 and made a cream tart; during the filming of Et Dieu… créa la femme that year, Brigitte Bardot suggested he call it La Tarte Tropézienne. The recipe and name were registered in 1973, and the Place des Lices boutique opened in 2002 (the maison’s own history page).
