Èze village sits on a rocky peak between Nice and Monaco, its stone lanes too narrow for cars. At the top is the Jardin d’Èze; below, on the sea, is Èze-Bord-de-Mer, linked to the village by the steep Chemin de Nietzsche.
The village
The Château de la Chèvre d’Or and Château Eza both hold starred tables; Fragonard has a shop.

Down to the sea
The Chemin de Nietzsche drops to Èze-Bord-de-Mer and its station; Cap Estel is on its own small peninsula.
Come early or at sunset; at midday in summer the lanes are packed.
Our advice: take the bus or a taxi up, and walk down the path.
